Tradition in the heart of Meenz's old town
Welcome to one of the oldest wine houses in Mainz. We are proud to welcome you to Weinhaus Loesch. With us, the atmosphere is determined by the wall tiling. The beautiful carvings of the patinated oak wood have been the background for cozy wine bar conviviality for generations. The origin of this inn lies in a forge. Horses were still shoed here around 1900. The owners of the animals were welcome to wait on the sole. The blacksmith had a liquor license, and tapping was done in the back rooms. With the increase in motor vehicles, the number of horses fell and blacksmithing was no longer profitable. From 1907, the license became the basis for a wine and beer restaurant, then still run by Emil Horn. A later, long-standing owner gave the inn its name, which is still common today.
